We’re Taking Part in SpecialEffect’s One Special Day!

One Special Day

UPDATE: Thank you for your tremendous support for One Special Day, SpecialEffect hit their ambitious target of 500,000! Follow us on social media (TikTok | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram | LinkedIn) to see what we’re up to with future events.

ORIGINAL STORY:

One Special Day, taking place this year on Friday 2nd October, challenges game developers and publishers all over the world to donate a portion of their day’s revenues to SpecialEffect.

A UK-based charity, SpecialEffect has been uniting the games industry for a brilliant cause on one day each year, doing life-changing work in making video games more accessible to those with disabilities.

We’re delighted to be continuing our long-term support for SpecialEffect this year by participating in One Special Day and pledging the UK profits from three of our biggest games: Draw It, Bake It and Line Up: Draw the Criminal.

With Draw It a consistently strong performer with more than 80 million downloads, combined with the 2020 successes Bake It and Line Up which have racked up more than 40 million downloads combined, this amounts to a very strong contribution from Kwalee to help SpecialEffect with all the amazing work they do.

All of us at Kwalee are strong supporters of the work done by SpecialEffect and CEO David Darling has this to say about our participation in One Special Day:

“As a developer and publisher of hyper-casual games, accessibility is something we spend a lot of time thinking about and we’re committed to creating great games that can be enjoyed as broadly as possible.”

“Everyone should be able to experience the joy of gaming and that’s why we so admire SpecialEffect for making this their mission. We’re very happy to be doing our bit on One Special Day and it’s fantastic to see our industry rallying around to provide support!”

To help One Special Day 2020 towards its $500,000 target, those of you based in the UK can download and play Draw It, Bake It and Line Up on Friday 2nd October with the knowledge that you’re directly supporting SpecialEffect!

You can also check out the numerous other participating titles from great developers, across all platforms, and grab some great games while also supporting charity. Alternatively, you can also provide a direct donation to the cause.
